## Questions

**What is in the Omi lineup?**
RecorderCompare lists 3 Omi products: 1 AI recorder and 2 accessories.

**What does Omi cost to run?**
At 20 hours of recording a month: [Omi (Consumer Version 1)](https://recordercompare.com/products/omi/): about $179 over two years ($179 for the device, nothing for transcription). Estimated from Omi's stated prices as of October 29, 2026; [how we work it out](https://recordercompare.com/how-we-compare/#cost).

**Does Omi use your recordings to train AI?**
Its policy says: "We do not use your recordings, transcripts, summaries, memories, or other content to train AI models without your explicit permission." ([source](https://www.omi.me/policies/privacy-policy)). We record the company's own statement; we have not audited it.

**Is Omi HIPAA compliant?**
Omi's statement: "we maintain a security and compliance program aligned with SOC 2 and HIPAA requirements" ([source](https://www.omi.me/policies/privacy-policy)). HIPAA has no official certification; a practice recording patients needs a business associate agreement (BAA) with the vendor. We do not judge compliance.

**Can you build on Omi?**
